Uncle Charlie
A former musician in local bands like Dresden 45 and Blunt, Charlie trained at the Art Institute of Houston and spent 15 years as a senior designer creating packaging for brands including Coca-Cola, Hi-C, and Minute Maid. In the early ’90s, he began designing posters for local promoters, developing his signature colorful, sometimes cartoon-inspired style while experimenting with diverse designs to match each band’s vibe.
Despite being legally blind since 2003, Charlie continues to create striking artwork that appears at venues such as the House of Blues and across Texas, proving that vision is more than what meets the eye.
