About this poster
Hi! I’m very excited to share my poster for The Avett Brothers for their show tonight in La Vista, NE!
I wanted to take inspiration from the long stretches of Midwestern highways that are covered in farmland and plains, something that I’ve been familiar with seeing my whole life. Last year, we took a trip down to central Illinois where it is nothing but fields for miles and turkey vultures patrol the sky, and that is where this idea of a vulture atop various discarded items from cars and trucks emerged. I felt like this was a good idea for a Nebraska show since it is known for the fields of corn, I also had to include what I think is THE sound of the Midwest in the middle of July, cicadas.
This was the FIRST poster I got to print in our new studio! I’m pretty happy with the print, some of the sketch from when I used carbon paper to transfer the image remained and I love seeing that sort of thing. It is 5 screens on Cougar Natural, show edition of 150 and 35 APs.
My APs will be released on 7/20 at 2pm EST alongside another poster that I will be sharing tomorrow. The best way to get notified as soon as they are live is through my newsletter.
