Dirty Heads Reggae on the Way Tacoma 25 Santora
About this poster
This idea came from my girlfriend! She is not an artist or designer, she’s actually a lawyer and policy advocate for a nonprofit and does really important work. She loves art, and she collected art—including gigposters—before we met.
There are many wonderful things about her, and one of them is that she has an incredible imagination. She really likes the last two Dirty Heads posters i designed (Ridgedale, Missouri last summer and Kansas City in 2023). Drawn to the tentacle motif, she had an idea that i could depict Mount Rainier being gripped by huge Godzilla style tentacles.
I didn’t need to think about it much. It’s a way cooler concept than i would have come up with, so i gathered a couple of reference photos and worked up a rough sketch, which was quickly approved by the band and management!
I had a lot of fun on this, and i hope people dig it!
