Originally created for The Mars Volta’s 2008 Houston performance, this poster introduces a surreal forest scene unfolding just outside the domain of the Nature Children—mysterious beings that would later appear in several of Jermaine Rogers’ Ween prints.
At the center drifts a Busu (pronounced Boo-Soo), a haunting, dual-faced entity that Jermaine describes as “two separate and distinct faces but one beautiful mind.” The piece blends intricate line work with atmospheric tension, capturing the spirit of the band’s expansive sound.
The image would later evolve into Sleepwalk, an art print echoing the same visual language in a more meditative form.
