Set just outside the enchanted forest of the Nature Children—recurring figures in several of Jermaine Rogers’ recent Ween prints—the Ayahuasca variant breathes new life into the iconic line-art imagery originally created for The Mars Volta Houston 08 poster.
At its center floats a Busu (pronounced Boo-Soo), a mystical being with “two separate and distinct faces but one beautiful mind,” as described by Jermaine.
Awash in tribal and psychedelic patterns, this version amplifies the spiritual and hallucinogenic tone of the piece. Jermaine adds, “I’d very much like it if people who haven’t yet heard or read about Ayahuasca and its history would be motivated to do so. No need to elaborate. There is information everywhere, presented much better than anything I could say here."
