About this poster
It is a honor to share my art for the @gratefuldead 60th anniversary. Me along with 5 other talented artist each created a poster to represent a decade of the dead. I was particularly excited by my decades assignment of 2005 - 2015. My first dead show 2010 Further at MSG. This era introduced me to the art gig posters. Walking into a show and seeing the merch wall was like visiting an art gallery and the work of @mikedubois , @peter.forsythe.design , @welkerstudios and @ajmasthay to name a few were in constant rotation. Unaware at the time that seeing these works would inspire so much of my own career a decade later.
In my opinion this was not the visual dead era of skeletons and bears. Sure they were there, but the art seemed to pivot away from the icons and return to its natural psychedelic roots. A celebration of beauty and nature, which is what led to the composition of the sun and roses in my decades of the dead poster. It’s wild to think that 15 years ago walking into MSG and experiencing the magic of the Grateful Dead live would change the trajectory of my life and lead to me lluatrating posters for the band I love. Thank you @gordonmthomas for including with the other very talented artists. My prints will be available Monday June 16th over at dead.net and I will have some artist prints at a later date. ❤️⚡️💙
