This striking 2016 limited edition gig poster by James R. Eads was created for Band of Horses' performances on October 27th and 28th at The Fillmore in Charlotte, NC. The artwork was later released as an art print titled "Spirit Stones."
The poster depicts a serene pond or small body of water surrounded by lush green trees and forest. The scene features carefully balanced stone cairns or rock stacks along the shore and partially submerged in the water. A small tree grows from the center of the pond, creating a focal point. The water's surface shows mesmerizing swirls and ripples rendered in luminous orange, yellow and white lines that echo the striking orange-swirled sky above.
Eads' distinctive style combines elements of post-impressionism with a modern psychedelic aesthetic. His use of vibrant colors and swirling patterns creates a sense of movement throughout the piece. The bottom of the poster features "Band of Horses" in elegant script, with the concert details in smaller text beneath.
