This poster by Casey Howard was made for a big moment—Dead & Company’s very first show, kicking off their first-ever U.S. tour. It happened on October 29, 2015, at the Times Union Center in Albany, NY, and marked the start of a new era for Dead fans, bringing together original members of the Grateful Dead with John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, and Jeff Chimenti.
The art features two skeletons with roses growing out of them, facing off in a mirrored layout, with a classic psychedelic color scheme and a nod to old-school Dead visuals. The design blends the familiar with something new—much like the band itself at the time.
